Green initiatives for Bass Hall

Fritted glass that reduces the need for extra use f energy by deflecting some of the incoming heat is used on the front windows of Bass Hall. This feature allowed Texas Performing Arts to expand the arena without having to increase the size of the cooling equipment. The need for artificial lighting has been reduced by the new lobby curtain while energy use after dark has been cut down by the new fluorescent lighting. Sheet flooring is made from linoleum, a renewable resource, while the countertops in the restrooms and lobby are made of recycled glass. Dual flush toilets installed in the new washrooms have led to reduced use of water. The use f wood paneling on the side of the building is also a notable green initiative of the Bass Concert Hall.
