FYI, I booked our hotel in August because they sell-out fast for big events like New Years’. So do the concert tickets! Celebrating it’s 51th year in business, the Broken Spoke is an iconic place to spend your Austin New Year’s Eve. It’s Alvin Crow & the Pleasant Valley Boys this New Year’s Eve
Go early and have the melt in your mouth chicken fried steak for dinner. Fun Trivia about the Broken Spoke: Featured in “Honeysuckle Rose” 1980 movie starring Willie Nelson and Dyan Cannon, and the owner was instrumental in getting Willie to settle in Austin. George Strait played at the Broken Spoke in his early days as did “Alvin Crow” and the band “Ace in the Hole.”
4) City of Austin Party – Free Family Friendly

City of Austin party features an alcohol-free celebration showcasing Austin’s diverse and talented art, films, and live music community. The Austin’s New Year line-up includes Grupo Fantasma, Golden Dawn Arkestra, and Carolyn Wonderland. Other confirmed performers include The Statesboro Revue, Big Cat, Vallejo, KP and the Boom Boom, Shawn Nelson, and Kalu James. The Community Stage will also feature The Watters, Tiarra Girls, Big Don, and Band Aid.
